I am proud to be an educator for Holland Public Schools. I started at West Middle School in 2000 teaching writing and then spent 7 years at Holland High School teaching English and Psychology. In 2010, I returned back to teaching 6th and 7th grade writing. I taught at Holland Heights, Jefferson West and East. I am currently teaching ELA at Jefferson K-7.
Just to let you know a little bit about me, I grew up on the east side of the state in Grand Blanc, MI. I grew up with an older brother, twin sister, and loving parents. I graduated from Hope College in 2000 and completed my Masters in Educational Leadership from GVSU in 2006.
I am married to the man of my dreams, Corey, who coaches Holland Varsity Football. We have two sons, Trenton, born in July of 2004, and Alec, born in September 2006. Our daughter, Caitlin, is 15 and active with soccer and volleyball.
I value wellness. I teach group exercise classes at MVP Athletic Club and Back to Fitness in Holland. I have taught classes for over 15 years. Furthermore, I have my own nutrition business as I am marketing director for Juice Plus+. (www.Koopman.JuicePlus.com) Besides helping others, I enjoy snow boarding, running, traveling, shopping, gardening, reading, writing, and most of all, spending time with my family.
I love what I do in the classroom educating students. I love working with people and helping them make healthy choices for their family and motivating them to exercise. Most of all, I love being "Momma" to my children. Children are so amazing and beautiful. I feel blessed every day to do what I do.
